For Pride Month 2023, I’m sharing some of the fabulous books and authors I’ve discovered featuring LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly characters or written by LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly authors.
Anna Zabo is an author I discovered by way of reading L.A. Witt's extensive repertoire of romance novels. The two of them co-authored the On the Board series of books centering around hockey players.
Yes. I know. Hockey. And, yes. It'll get its own post.
But while I was waiting for the next book to be written and published, I delved into Anna Zabo's books and discovered the three great books in the Twisted Wishes series.
Twisted Wishes is the name of a rock band with Ray as the frontman, Domino on lead guitar, and Mish on bass. Mish is awesome, and I love the female representation! While Syncopation and Counterpoint both feature the M/M Romances of Ray and Domino, Reverb features Mish and David, a trans man. Zabo writes such cool characters facing the same kinds of challenges any new couple faces. Well, in the case of Reverb, any new couple where one half is a rock star and the other half is her security detail. Seriously - you should read it!
This is a terrific series of books with some well-developed and super fun characters and stories that will have you turning the page until you've gone through all three of them. Trust me. Sleep is overrated.
