Hello and welcome to Day 8 of 30 Days of Pride - Books and Authors!
For Pride Month 2023, I’m sharing some of the fabulous books and authors I’ve discovered featuring LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly characters or written by LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly authors.
Today we're putting women in the spotlight thanks to some terrific writing by romance author Bryce Oakley. During the last Audible sale (and there's one going on right now through Friday night, I. believe) I picked up some books by some new-to-me authors, one of which was Never Mine by Bryce Oakley, an author from Colorado where much of this book is set.
It's my favorite trope - fake dating (yes, please!) - as well as being a sports romance because one of the two main characters is a professional soccer player who played in the World Cup. Seriously - fake dating AND sports? Oh yeah.
I'm only on chapter 20 of 28 chapters (plus an epilogue) and I really like Sage and Willa's characters so far. Steam level is lower than what I'm used to in a lot of the MM and MF romance novels I read, but overall, it's pretty good.
This is my first book by Oakley, but I'm already eyeing a second one called The Adventurers. This one has travel in it, so I'm definitely interested!
To learn more about Bryce Oakley and all her books, visit her official website. Follow her on Goodreads, too.
Take care, and happy reading!
- Heather
