Hello and welcome to Day 7 of 30 Days of Pride - Books and Authors!
For Pride Month 2023, I’m sharing some of the fabulous books and authors I’ve discovered featuring LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly characters or written by LGBTQ or LGBTQ-friendly authors.
As a new writer, I do my best to learn whatever I can about writing and publishing, which means attending workshops and conferences as time and budget both permit. Last November, I met lots of wonderful authors at 20BooksVegas, a writer's conference for indie (i.e., self-published) writers. I also discovered a ton of great books, adding to an endless TBR pile.
Romance author, Sam Kraemer, is one of the amazing people I had the pleasure of meeting in Vegas. She and I sat next to each other during one of the many craft and marketing sessions offered that week, during which time I learned that she wrote gay romances. At her suggestion, I listened to Ranger Hank, narrated by one of my favorite voice actors, Michael Farraiuolo.
Ranger Hank is Book 1 of the Lonely Heroes Series, featuring a man who served as an Army Ranger. Upon his reentry into civilian life. he ends up falling for his younger sister's special ed teacher. It's a super sweet story with a fair amount of steam along the way. And, like any romance novel, it has a happily ending.
